Recognised through the Protected Denomination of Origin, or Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), Habanos are produced using tobacco grown in designated Cuban regions, each with its own protected geographical identity.

This distinction preserves the connection between the cigar and the land, ensuring that the name Habano represents more than a place of manufacture. It represents a tradition with a defined origin and a carefully guarded identity.

A Tradition Made Entirely by Hand

For more than two centuries, the art of making Habanos has been guided by techniques developed in Havana and passed from one generation of cigar makers to the next.

Every Habano is crafted Totalmente a Mano - entirely by hand. From the cultivation of tobacco to the final presentation of the cigar in its box, more than 500 manual tasks contribute to its creation.

The process demands precision at every stage. Experienced hands select, prepare, roll and finish the tobacco, while each cigar undergoes rigorous quality controls established by the Regulatory Council for the Protected Denomination of Origin Habanos.

Only those that satisfy these exacting requirements may carry the distinguished name.
